CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Crocodilian Skins actively supports the local communities in which it operates. This support is widespread and includes logistical assistance, as well as donations of materials, books, transportation, and equipment to various organizations, including the following:
- Logistical and operational support to National Park, and wildlife areas in the vicinity of Kariba on their anti-poaching operations.
- Provision of free transport on Crocodilian Skins Staff truck for community members from Charara, NAU, Ndomo-Gachegache fishing camp, Nyawodza fishing camp, and wafa wafa to reach shops and medical facilities in Kariba Town and back to their respective places.
- Support for the Charara, NAU, and Wafa-Wafa communities through the donation of cement for the construction and maintenance of the dust road connecting to the main tarred road.
- Support for local anti-poaching initiatives in Kariba, including servicing vehicles for law enforcement agencies to enhance their effectiveness.
- Donation of books, pencils, pens, rulers, mathematical and book covers at Nyamhunga Primary on price giving day.
- Most non-professional skills are recruited from within the local Kariba community thereby ensuring that the local people benefit from our investment into their community.
- Crocodilian Skins prioritizes procurement from local businesses to support enterprise development in the Kariba area whenever possible.
These activities play a small role in offsetting some of the socio-economic challenges that are most apparent in the more remote and marginal areas of the country. Crocodilian Skins will continue to support initiatives like these, which clearly benefit the rural communities from which the majority of its junior staff are drawn.
