Crocodilian Skins is a full member of CFAZ. The Crocodile Farmers Association of Zimbabwe (CFAZ) is a producer representative body that works closely with PWLMA in regulating the industry. This is achieved through a CFAZ Code of Practice, which defines the minimum standards concerning crocodile farming and seeks to enforce ethical and humane practices in the farming of crocodiles. CFAZ has the responsibility to ensure that this Code is applied consistently by its members and is assisted in this by PWLMA requiring that all legitimate crocodile producers are members of the association body. Crocodilian Skins as an entity has been a member of the CFAZ since 2021 and is bound by adherence to the CFAZ Code of Practice and animal welfare best practices.
CITES (CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILD FAUNA AND FLORA)
CITES is an international agreement designed to ensure that the trade of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. Crocodiles are listed on Appendix II of CITES, indicating they may become endangered and require monitoring. In Zimbabwe, the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority enforces CITES regulations. A national management plan for crocodiles has been approved by the government, and all exports of crocodile products, such as skins and meat, must have a CITES permit to verify their origin and authenticity.
